WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu reveals she is marrying NFL free agent fianc 'in a few months'

New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu is marrying NFL free agent Hroniss Grasu.

For many, this will be the first hearing of this - but now, the former Oregon women's basketball star has confirmed the pair are tying the knot 'in a couple of months.'

Ionescu joined CBS Mornings while showing off her unisex signature shoe as part of a wider collection.

It was there she detailed her engagement to Grasu, who was released by the Raiders Tuesday but is reportedly unofficially on its practice squad.

'It's a great love story. A little Oregon Ducks love story,' Ionescu told Gayle King, former NFL player Nate Burleson and Tony Dokoupil.

'He played football at the University of Oregon. He's a little older than me but we met as alumni from there and we're now getting married in a couple of months.'

The pair began engaged earlier this year after her man got down on one knee on January 20, as posted on her Instagram.

Grasu was part of Oregon's 2010 recruiting class and committed after receiving an offer from the Ducks.

He was named an All-American in both 2013 and 2014 before the Chicago Bears used a third round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft to select him.

Grasu then spent time with Baltimore across two seasons before a nine-game stint with the 49ers in 2020.

Most recently, Grasu played four games - starting one - for the Las Vegas Raiders through 2022.

As for Ionescu, during the 2023 WNBA season, she is averaging 17.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists.

The Liberty sit atop the Eastern Conference with a 28-7 record -- the second-best across the league.
